When the World Cup was held in Argentina in 1978, Peru’s military dictatorship was coming to an end. Though Peru had a seemingly cooperative relationship with Argentina under its own dictatorship, it was somewhat subordinate to Argentina. During the World Cup, a man is murdered in Peru, Lima. As government official and friend of the deceased, Félix begins working on the case when someone leaves a document on his desk. A faction supporting the Peruvian dictatorship had been roped into committing murder in Argentina. Félix, who learns of this truth, tries to expose this but nobody listens to him. An adapation of Santiago Roncagliolo’s novel, this film brings this tragic event from South America’s political dark ages to the screen with great tension. (CHUN Jinsu)
